Every now and then I do little things to save my precious pennies. Here I am adding a few tips (come back as this page will be updated regularly):
- Visit student money saver and money saving expert; there are some lovely bargains on there (and you don't really need to be a student to get the discounts on the first site).
- Buy things locally on ebay. They are much cheaper.
- Here's how you can save money on train tickets.
- Fabric softener is expensive, but you can easily make your own. Follow this blog, I am going to share the recipe soon. Also, use soapnuts for your laundry.
- Cook! It's cheaper that takeaways.
- forage if you can.
- freecycle things.
- doing up your garden? Ask the neighbours: they may have spare seeds bulbs and cuttlings you can have.
- Grow veg in your garden or inside, in pots.
- There are some great bargains in charity shops.
- make handmade cards and gifts.
- meditate, look after yourself and your health - seriously, there is a good chance you don't need to spend money on sleeping pills if you do.
- visit your local library and borrow books instead of buying them.
- sell things on the local car boot.
- i.e. grow plants and do crafts and sell them.
- sell your hair. Yes you can! Just google it!
- don't waste your spare food, freeze it. Nothing should go in the bin. Make the most of leftovers.
- Entertainment: there are so many free events you may wish to attend in your region.
- Your local gyms may give away free-day-passes.
- Or just do your own exercise at home (there are so many exercise machines offered for free on freecycle by the way).
